Inner Hebrides Malt Cruises

I am at last getting focused on next sailing season. We have 2 weeks sailing available. Guests arrive night before on afternoon of their booked sail. Itinerary as below, dependent on weather and of course any specific requirements the guests have, we could spend a day Whale hunting, or visit the Old Forge at Knoydart, Britain’s most remote pub.

Itinerary for Inner Hebrides Malt Cruise

Day One:
Travel to Oban to join Celtic Star, and either short cruise to Loch Spelve Mull to find the White tail Sea Eagles, or visit to Oban Distillery. Dinner on board. (Usually Hand dived Scallops, fresh local fish and seasonal soft fruit).

Day Two:
Gentle sail through the islands to Jura, anchor off Craighouse and go ashore for a tour and tasting at the Jura Distillery, then perhaps a pint in the Jura Hotel and back on board for dinner.

Day Three:
Short passage to Lagavulin Bay on the island of Islay, anchor here then trip ashore to visit Laphroaig (1 mile walk), then Ardbeg (2 miles back past Lagavulin) then back to Lagavulin for a tasting in their wood paneled dramming room, back to the boat for dinner.

Day Four:
Passage to Iona, and opportunity to see the fabulous Sound of Jura, then trip ashore to visit the cathedral and ruins on Iona, then back on board for a night in a sheltered anchorage.

Day Five:
Passage to Tobermory taking in Staffa and Fingals Cave on the way (a really amazing place to visit) then following a visit to the distillery to sample the two unique whiskies Tobermory and Leddaig, dinner ashore in Cafe Fish the 2011, & 2012 fish restaurant of the year.

Day Six:
After breakfast a gentle sail back to Oban down the spectacular Sound of Mull, packing up and leaving around midday.

The cruise will cost £750 per person to include all meals on board, towels, duvets pillows etc. I will provide a glass or two of wine with dinner and a beer or wine before dinner each day. Waterproofs are available on board to hire if people do not have their own and need them.

Maximum of 6 guests, there are 3 cabins that sleep two each.

To proceed with this I will need a deposit to reserve the boat for you.
