Scapa
First Fill American Bourbon Casks
70cl.

Matt’s Notes:
The latest addition to the Scapa range released in September 2015, in selected retailers in the UK and France. The whisky, which gets its name from the Old Norse word for ‘glittering bright skies’, is distilled in a unique barrel-shaped Lomond wash still – the only remaining working Lomond wash still in the Scotch whisky industry – and matured in first fill American Oak casks, which are stored in a grey Orkney stone warehouse. Scapa Skiren whisky is bottled at a respectable 40% ABV.
Elegantly tropical, with hints of apple and a touch of anise, crushed nuts, runny honey and fresh cream.
The palate offers the smooth sweetness of honeydew melon and ripe pear. Rich touches of warming oak spice develop, bringing a note of old leather and toasty oak to the long, rich finish.
